| About The Artist |
PAT STODDARD ARAGON has been a professional artist for most of her life, though she is basically self taught. She was born and raised in N California and for many years taught art classes out of her home studio and also in the Adult Education system. She also worked as a commercial artist and was a cartographer (map drawing) for an advertising firm in CA. For over 30 years she has handled a successful mail order animal portrait business working from her client's photos.
In 1990 Pat went to Wyoming to visit... and to see and paint her favorite subjects first hand and up close... horses, cowboys, Native Americans and wildlife, cattle and western ranchlife. She married and spent the next 17 years in Wyoming living and working on a cattle ranch with her husband. She has been very successful since then and won many awards with her authentic western art.
PAT paints anything 'western'... but is nationally known for her exquisite paintings of animals... especially HORSES! Her equine portraits and paintings are in collections all over the USA. She works mostly in the pastel medium because it lends itself so well to the animal's softness and expression, but her oils and graphite renditions are also very popular with her collectors.
She divides her time recently, between Wyoming and her Gray Rock Studio in the foothills of N California. Pat accepts commissions for custom animal portraits, horses, cowboys, western still life and ranch scenes. For more information click on the 'Contact Artist' link.
